Difficulty Programming my new Roku to Harmony One.

[ Edited ]

Hello - hopefully someone can be of help as I think I'm overlooking the obvious.  I purchased a Roku and went to program the remote last night and everything works fine except that the LED screen is blank and hte remote keys are inoperable once everything is turned properly on (went through the manual setting, dvd, roku, N1000). Everything works fine once I hit devices, roku1000, home, it activates the remote keys.  Therefore, my question is: how do I get the roku remote to work upon initial start-up just like all my other devices?

Thank you in advance for your help and Mods - since I'm new, please move this thread if it is in the incorrect location.

Thanks again.

Foe.

Hi and welcome to the forum - you're fine here.

First let's have some more information - what is a Roku, and what type of Activity have you set it up in?

A Roku is a Digital Video Player that allows you to stream Netflix movies over the internet to your TV.  I set up the actiivity in DVD as I read online that's where the Roku N1000 (my model) number is located at....

OK, that sounds right. What are the startup details for the Activity as shown at Review Settings?

That's OK, and so are the details again.

Now, at Customise Buttons for the Activity, are the appropriate buttons assigned to control the Roku?

Ok - I just customized as it originally showed 'from database' under the appropriate keys (if that makes sense).  Basically I taught the harmony remote the necessary keys from the Roku remote via IR...  Just did this and updated the remote; tried it on the tv and it works now.  However, the LED doesn't show any 'touch keys' - is that normal?  And if so, is there a way to put the touch keys on the LED?

Thanks again for your help thus far...  I really appreciate it (and we're making progress)!!!!

Update: the volume doesn't work on the Harmony Remote - I'm assuming I need to customize this in the teach menu?

Re: Difficulty Programming my new Roku to Harmony One.

You can check under Customize Buttons for that Activity to see if any additional commands where mapped to the LCD buttons.  If none were mapped, you can add any commands you need for that activity.
