Re: Expanded control for Windows Media Center now available in our database

Hello guys,

This thread is awesome and I hope very much that I could also set up my Harmony One in this matter.

I have a Sigma Tel USB IrDA Dongle and it seems that is working fine (windows reports "This device is working properly"). I have set up the Harmony One exactly as per the guide in this thread but it doesn't work. I tried under different application, including MC.

Am I missing something or my Ird receiver is not good for Harmony One? Please give some advice. Thank you.

The Windows Media Center SE device is only compatible with USB IR Receivers that support the Microsoft IR protocol.

Re: Expanded control for Windows Media Center now available in our database

I am looking for users who are using a third-party USB IR receiver to control the Microsoft Media Center SE device as discussed in this post.

If you can successfully control the Microsoft Media Center SE device with your third-party USB receiver please provide me with the following information.

Manufacturer

Model

Link to manufacturer or retailer

Thank you for providing this information.

In Windows you can assign a hotkey to start a program (right-click a program shortcut, choose Properties > Shortcut tab > Hotkey), for example CTRL + ALT + 5. Is it possible to add such hotkeys to the Logitech remotes?

I would like to sincerely thank you for this added functionality. I had been using a gyration remote (built in air mouse) to control the mouse when it was needed every once in a blue moon on my HTPC. Now, I am finally back to using only one remote (Harmony 670) for every device in my entertainment center!!!

May have missed a couple of these going through the pulldown....

the following were in your preliminary keyboard definition and are (imho) critical commands;

<START> (the "Windows Start" as opposed to the green "Media Start" button)
<ESCAPE> (critical for things such as youtube and hulu)

<TAB>
<Alt> (alone)
<PageUp> & <PageDn>
<Home> & <End>

The good news is that they are in the original keyboard, so,

can be made available by including both devices.

We will definitely add more codes.

I will be contacting you to discuss your questions further.

PikeHarmony, several months back you stated you were going to add the additional commands to the database.   I just configured my remote (cleared and REconfigured) based on the new MCE device but have yet to find the keys mentioned in this post.   No ESC, no Start, etc.   When can we expect these added?  Obviously Esc should work since it's linked to other commands.    Please add these so we can use them and not have to start over again and again.

Thanks!

Re: Expanded control for Windows Media Center now available in our database

Can you please add a few more shortcuts?  I'd like to control iTunes while in my media center activity screen.

For example.  I'd like to be able to have the key combo of   Control + Arrow UP.  (Volume UP in iTunes)

Sometimes I leave iTunes volume lowered and iTunes volume is not affected by Windows Volume as you know.

Here are all the various keyboard shortcuts that would be nice to have in the database.

http://www.apple.com/au/support/itunes/windows/shortcuts/

I don't understand why all the various short cuts are not in the database.

Other short cuts would be Ctrl + Alt + x     (A-Z)

These shortcuts would be used to assign them to Windows Shortcut hot keys.

Are these available anywhere already and I'm just not finding them?  If not, could you please add them to this SE?

I would also like to see the ChannelPrev command from other Microsoft remotes (e.g. 1039) for recalling a TV channel. Thank you.

Re: Expanded control for Windows Media Center now available in our database

Also, Is there another command besides Alt + Enter to maximize/minimize the window?   If I'm watching live tv, the sequence will cause the recall last channel to flip back to the last channel I watched.   It's only a problem if I'm watching live tv.  If I'm watching anything else everything is fine.    The window will maximize/minimize either way, but the problem of last channel recall during live tv is the one I'm trying to avoid.

Hi is there any way of programming a Eject CD tray command and also a quicklaunch application switcher into the harmony using it as the MCE remote.

Re: Expanded control for Windows Media Center now available in our database

Personally, I'd love to see an option for all CTRL+ ALT+ WIN+ combos. It may be extensive, but it would cover all the bases. For instance, I want CTRL+F because I already have ALT+ESC for switching from XBMC to iTunes, then CTRL+T for visualization, and now I need CTRL+F for full screen visualization.

That would be sweet and would help a LOT of people.

Also, many many thanks to the Logitech crew for adding this. I just discovered this after searching the internet for a while looking for some way to do macros.
