Harmony 550 not "learning" from my Bell Expressvu remote

Hi there

I just got a new HDPVR installed today and was trying to get the harmony 550 remote to learn the buttons/functions and I cant even get it to learn the Power toggle ... Im not sure if its because its a UHF remote or if the remote may be new since I believe, the Bell 9241 HDPVR receiver is a relatively new product on the market.

any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Dennis

The Harmony can only learn IR commands, it can not learn RF or UHF commands

Hi Dennis - Yes, the 550 and most other Harmonys work exclusively, as do most remote controls, by Infra Red, not Radio Frequency, transmissions.

DeMart;

I don't have a solution for you, but I'm having the same problem with a much older Bell ExpressVu 3100.

Be sure that you Bell ExpressVu is set to be controlled by IR and not bu RF.  Many DVR have this ability to either be controlled by RF or IR.

Re: Harmony 550 not "learning" from my Bell Expressvu remote

Found my problem   It turns out, that if I had bothered to read the screen,  I would have been pointing the Bell remote at the BOTTOM of the Logitech.   When I follow instructions, things work much better.   :smileysurprised:

Hope the solution to your problem is just as simple.
