Harmony Remotes - Programming

I have Harmony 670 and the activites buttons are not fully functioning. It only sends a few of the commands. Here is an example:

Watch TV:

Projector is on

DirecTV is on

Yamaha Receiver is on

DirecTV is set to Tuner 

Projector is set to HDMI1

Yamaha Receive is set to TV/DBS

The only thing that comes on is the DirecTV. Nothing else comes on at all. I can manually go through the devices and turn them on. I have updated the firmware on the remote. I have removed the devices and activities then updated the remote with a blank configuration (which should essentially remove all items from the remote) then reupdated with everything reprogrammed.

The odd thing is that this was all working yesterday. I went to tweak a customized button for an activity, then all this behavior started.

Apparently there isnt any phone support after 60 days so I of out of luck if nobody has any ideas.

Try it again, but this time press the HELP button when it doesn't work right.  This MAY synch them all. 

It MAY be confused as to which are on and which are off.  It has a memory for that.  Let us know how you go.

Thanks Ozzy. The help menu worked but only one time. When I shut everthing off (with the off button on the remote), the next time I went to start it, the same thing happened. Only the DirecTV box turned on.

I have setup a few 670s and a few 1000 w/extenders for various friends and family with no issues. I understand the concept that the remotes need to be the device used to control everything because they keep track of power/inputs etc... So I dont think I am doing anything wrong. Also, like I said before, this particular remote was working for quite some time before this happened.

Is there some way to factory reset the remote and erase the config from the Harmony app to start over fresh?

If you're sure that the power commands work direct from Devices, then they must be able to work in Activities.

Make sure in Devices> Adjust Power that the command names in the dropdown boxes are the same as those that you know to work.

It sounds as if you have already done all the deleting and setting up that could make any difference.

You can still e-mail Logitech support with any enquiries so that is the next step after you've double-checked everything.

I will confirm individual commands in the activities them selves and see if that makes a difference. If not I will email support.

Either way I will post back and let you know.

Emailing the HELP desk is no where near as successful as TELEPHONING then in my experience.

Ian: I always regret having to differ, but my experience is that e-mails do get a good response, and in any case I prefer to have everything in writing in case there is any dispute later about what was specified.

Have you tried adjusting the delays? If it's failing during power on but not manually, it could be sending commands too fast.
