Harmony One and Lutron Maestro IR

I have the Harmony One and Lutron IR switches (MIR-1000).  I would like to set different lighting scenes (like 10%, 20%, 50% and 100%).  Can anyone advise as to whether this can be done.  Thank you.

Re: Harmony One and Lutron Maestro IR

As I do not have Lutron IR lights myself, I can only give this based on my Harmony experience with these units.

If you are able to setup scenes within the light or controller box, then the Harmony can send the appropriate Scene command to that level.  Again it all depends on the Lutron itself, and if you can setup say Scene1 to have 10%, and Scene2 to have 20% etc.

Re: Harmony One and Lutron Maestro IR

Thanks.  I think I've determined that the Lutron Maestro limits you to one "scene" setting.  Another question.  The Lutron remote that came with the IR switches has a button that you can toggle up or down and have a smooth fading of the lights up or down.  The preprogrammed codes have a bright and dim switch, but if you push those buttons the up and down of the lights is choppy.  Is there anyway to replicate the button on my Lutron remote that you push and hold down to get the lights to go up or down smoothly?  Thanks

Re: Harmony One and Lutron Maestro IR

It would be a Speed Settings (Delays) issue & possibly a Repeats issue.

To edit the speed setting:

1. From your Harmony home page click on the 'Devices' tab at the top of the page.
2. Click on 'Settings' next to the device that is not responding correctly.
3. Click "Adjust the delays (speed settings)"  and click 'Next' at the bottom of the page.

Adjusting "Repeats" Values:

1) From the Harmony home page click "Devices" tab.
2) Select "Troubleshoot" next to the device on your Harmony home page
3) Select "Show me more problems" and click on 'Next' at the bottom of the page.
4) Click on "My ... doesn't appear to receive every command correctly", and click on 'Next'.
5) Click on "The device doesn't respond to some commands, or responds occasionally."
6) This should bring you the 'adjust repeats' page.
7) Pick a number then click on 'next' to save the changes.
8) Update your remote for the changes to take effect.

Re: Harmony One and Lutron Maestro IR

I'm also having trouble getting the Harmony One to "learn IR" codes from the Lutron lighting remote control.  I've tried both the regular learn IR and RAW methods.  Any suggestions there?

Re: Harmony One and Lutron Maestro IR

Also, I tried changing the speed settings and repeats, but it didn't seem to fix the problem.  My Lutron lighting remote has up and down keys that you can press and hold to make the lights go up/down smoothly.  Trying to determine if these buttons/functions can be replicated on the Harmony One.  Seems like it should be able to, but maybe not.  The Harmony One has pre-programmed buttons for bright (lights up) and dim (lights down) but you can't push and hold those buttons, they just make small adjustments to the lights.  If you sequence several brights in a row, the lighting change is not smooth (it's choppy).

Re: Harmony One and Lutron Maestro IR

Hello riceowl,

If you are still having this Press / Hold issue, please contact support & ask them to ensure those commands you want are set to work as a Hold.  Email is best.

Re: Harmony One and Lutron Maestro IR

Hi, I have the Harmony 550 and I had no troubles setting my remote with the Lutron IR lighting.

Go to

Add device:

Home Automation

>>Light Controller

  >>Company = Lutron

     >> Type in model

You can customize your buttons and have "all on", "all off", "dimmer", "brighter", "scene1".

I am able to do everything the Lutron light is able to do.  I love it.

Enjoy!
