Harmony One and Sony Bravia KDL-32M4000

I have one of the infamous Sony TV's that does not have discrete inputs, the KDL-32M4000. The TV is in the database but the commands do not function correctly when changing inputs. When I use the input button on the device section of the remote, I do get to the input menu and if I am really quick I can get the input to switch to the next one on the list, but usually requires multiple presses of the button, that then "overshoots" the desired item. The discrete inputs do nothing at all. I have turned off the auto-thing that the software tells me to turn off. The TV turns on to the same input it turned off with. It goes sequentially through the list of inputs. I can delete inputs out of the list to make it quicker, but right now all inputs are listed. It is driving me NUTS. The Sony remote does not seem to have the problem. Do I need to program the Harmony from the Sony remote?

Welcome to the forum Jim.

The first thing to do is report to Logitech support that the database entry for your TV includes a set of separate input commands that do not work!

They need to correct the base, and more importantly for you they need to provide a full set of working commands, possibly from another model.

In the meantime it should be possible to make the cycling method work reasonably well.

Edit the list of Input Names to match exactly with the list that appears on the TV screen when you change inputs manually.

Try different values for the Inter-Key Delay.

The only command you could usefully "learn" from the original remote would be the InputNext, but that seems to be working already.

Re: Harmony One and Sony Bravia KDL-32M4000

I have a pending support request into Logitech so when they get to my request I will mention the bad codes.

I am NOOB with regard to the remote, so how do I change the inter-key delay? Where are the list of input names in the software? In the remote?

OK - Report back on progress with Logitech support.

There are no facilities for making adjustments on the remote.

In the Harmony 7:6:0 software go to Devices> TV> Settings> Adjust Delays and try different settings for Inter-Key.

At Devices> TV> Settings> Adjust Inputs check and edit the list of Input Names to match those that appear on the TV screen.

Re: Harmony One and Sony Bravia KDL-32M4000

So i have the same TV and was able to trick it into doing what i wanted by pretending there were extra inputs, that way it would cycle through. Unfortunatly that no longer works since i added my ps3 and now having an odd number of inputs plugged in. Although i believe i have found the solution, its been working perfectly for two days no matter which input im on it goes to the correct one now. The trick is to set it up as method 3 and tell it that you press input to bring up the menu, input again to cycle and i said press enter to select. Its been working flawlessly, hope this helps someone as i spent hours trying every little thing to get this working.

You should be able to use Method 2 for setting inputs for that TV.
