Re: New Sony Bravia Input Issues with Logitech Harmony Remotes

This doesn't work for me, i dunno why either unless i am doing something wrong, or perhaps my Bravia KDL-40V4000 is the biggest pain of all. ANy suggestions. When i go into Method 2 and such it is only letting me pick from a list of codes of which many are missing. Do i have to manually write all of the input ones myself? If so then i totally get it, if not i am more frustrated with it than i was before lol.

When you get to the screen that lists the inputs you can add, remove , rename, or move the inputs around so that they match the inputs for your TV in the same order as your TV

Re: New Sony Bravia Input Issues with Logitech Harmony Remotes

I have done that several times but then after updating the remote it simply doesn't work and the light on the TV just blatantly flashes to say it is reading it loud and clear but it just can't compute, i want to know what model they succeeded with in this setup because then i will program my remote to control that model, set the inputs as they explained and then if it is going to work it will. And also i am exploring ways and means of upgrading the firmware on my TV. Apparently Sony send out USB dongles to users who upgrade their TV's via it's USB port.

Dave - Logitech support may be able to trace the model you need.

Anyway hope ya's all had a good Christmas and here is to a Happy New Year and hopefully in my case a fixed Harmony remote when it comes to Bravia televisions lol.

Dave

I have an LG 42PB4D HD. No amount of assistance by Logitech could help though they did try. I wish they had told me to use input 2.

It worked, following weprob who posted reply on page 4.

Re: New Sony Bravia Input Issues with Logitech Harmony Remotes

Ok, interesting, i have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V4000 and have had no luck with none of this as of yet, yet someone suggested i try the codes for a KDL46W4500 and once again i am back to where i made it last time, Video 1, 2 & 3 work as well as now HD/DVD 1 & the PC Input. I can't get HD/DVD 2 or any of the HDMI inputs to work, so after New Years one i get the time i guess i shall have to email Logitech about this. When i program the remote though i am not offered this Video 1-9 like Weprob quotes i only get inputvideo1-8 are these the same or am i totally missing something here???

Regards

Dave

Has ANYONE on here fully got a Sony Bravia model of any kind fully working with the inputs?

Re: New Sony Bravia Input Issues with Logitech Harmony Remotes

Hi, I'm in the same boat, I have the same Sony Bravia model (I think - from memory it is a KXX - 40 XXX), a Vista Media Center and a Wii. I can get everything going except the Sony input switching between Video 2 (Wii) and PC. I tried cycling the Input Menu items, but no joy, it just gets confused.

I'll give the Method 2 a go tho.I want a high WAF.

Good luck and happy new year.

Re: New Sony Bravia Input Issues with Logitech Harmony Remotes

SONY does not have any DIRECT Input commands.  I have a Bravia and had to ring SONY, and they confirmed that.

I got my Harmony 1000 working with clever use of the NEXTINPUT command and the Logitech HELP desk/engineers to fix it for me.
