Hi,
I'm trying to setup my mother's Harmony One to connect to a Sony KDL-26S3000.
I've downloaded the default codes for the TV, and they don't look too good as some are missing eg teletext, coloured buttons.
The only code I can't sort out myself is to switch the TV's external input to HDMI1 (it has 2HDMI's). It actually switches to the analogue tuner. Can I add the hex code myself (if I knew what it was) as there is not a descrete button to learn from.
I've got a similar TV (KDL-26S2030) and it switches ok so the theory looks sound.
Thanks.
ps. My mother hasn't got internet access, so I have to set up the remote with as many devices/buttons as I can in advance.
Pity you can't store the configs on a PC.

Hi.
Try other models for the missing commands.
Check all the Input commands by sending them directly from the Harmony's Devices screen.
At Devices> TV> Settings> Adjust Inputs> Method 2 edit the Names list and assign the tested Commands.
If that leaves you needing an Input command and you can get it in standard Pronto hex then Logitech support will add it to your account

Thanks for your reply.
I'm still struggling ! Not having the actual tv to try things on doesn't help but I'm using a similar KDL-20S3000 which has the same issues.
I've tried different Sony TV codes to do a descrete switch to HDMI - none work.
What I can do is switch to AV1,AV2 and AV3 but nextinput does not take me to AV4 (HDMI).
I've read in the FAQ that some tv's don't switch if the HDMI unit is not switched on. Does this mean "powered up", "in standby", "No power at all" or "just an hdmi lead connected with nothing at the other end". (I've a lead but no HDMI unit to easily test with.)
If I go to menu, external inputs, and select AV4 (HDMI) it is selected ok.

That's OK, and I can see your difficulty!
By "tried different Sony TV codes" do you mean you've set up different models of Sony as Harmony Devices?
When you get to AV3 what does Input Next actually do, if anything?
Isn't there something else to take you from there to AV4?
And does "go to menu, external inputs, and select AV4" refer to using the menu in the Sony?
Only the Sony manual can advise you about that possible HDMI switching feature.

Yes, I've tried different Sony models as Harmony Devices.
Input next varies. From AV3 I can get to AV5, or I get the Sony drop down menu for external inputs with AV3 highlighted which I guess is getting close with multiple commands, although I'm aiming for a discrete command.
Yes, "go to menu, external inputs, and select AV4" refers to using the menu in the Sony, and it is selected ok.
Many thanks again.
ps. Moving the KDL-20S3000 to an HDMI device is much easier than the other way , so I'll try that next.

That's OK and let us know how you get on.
It is only a sort of bonus that the database includes ANY discrete or separate input commands.
When they don't all work, or not enough of them work, it can be better to go back to the way in which the original remote works.
With the right settings for Input Names, Commands, and Delays, those orginal methods that usually involve going through a list of inputs can be made to work efficiently.

Connecting a powered on HDMI device makes no difference.
Trying all the combinations again, I've found that InputComponent1 actually gives me AV5 on the 20S3000. Now that is the second HDMI slot on a 26S3000, so there's a chance yet to get a discrete command working.
Shame the codes are a mess on the S3000's but are fine on the S2030.

So much for that theory. InputComponent1 on the 26S3000 goes to AV6, which is the input after the 2 HDMI slots.
On a Sony Bravia KDL-26S2030 there is a descrete command to get to HDMI1.
Is it likeley that on a Sony Bravia KDL-26S3000 there is no such descrete command??? AV1, AV2,AV3 and AV6 do have descrete commands.

I thought I would try asking Sony if the KDL-26S3000 would switch to HDMI1 with a descrete command, and if so, what it is.
Talk about getting blood from a stone!
Every reply (4 now) has been based on "If you are looking for codes for the Harmony One Universal Remote Commander you will need to contact the manufacturer of that product."
I'm not giving up yet.

As I suggested in post #6 it may be better to go back to the method that the original remote uses for setting the inputs.
Let us know how it does it.
