Problems with delay using H1 & DirecTV HR22-100

I didn't readily find anything related to this when I did a search, so thought I'd start up a new thread to help out others that may be having the same issue.

I have the Harmony One and a DirecTV HR22-100 and for the life of me cannot get the thing to respond in a timely fashion to keypresses. No matter if I change the repeats (currently at 4, have tried 0-5), the inter-key delay (currently at 0ms, which I see others are using w/o issue), or the type of programming for the keys (I started using the database values, then went learned, then finally went learned RAW), I cannot get this to go away. There is a noticible probably 500ms delay between the time I press a key and the time the DTV reacts to it. This is not evident when I use the DTV's own remote.

Any hints? Anybody else w/ the same issue?

Thanks in advance,

B

I should add that my H1 does control the DTV, so the whole RF vs IR setup on the receiver is not the issue. Rather the response of the DTV to the remote commands is becoming unbearably lagged.

guess : if using the device in activity mode the delay maybe because of all the other commands the remote has to send to other devices? do you have the same delay in device mode/

yes i have the same delay in device mode. in activity mode it's not sending any other commands when i send one to the dtv. for instance, the down arrow on the guide screen does just that, down.

It seems like you have tried everything, I think it is time to contact Harmony support to have them look at your account.  The only other thing to try is remove the device and readd it back in, I have 2 of those models and have not had any delay problems, other than the Guide which is a DirecTV problem and has been on going for months.

interesting you should mention removing and re-adding. I just did this and still have the same issue. I'll probably plug at it some more but was kind of looking for anybody that did contact support and, if the issue was resolved, what the solution ended up being.

Thanks

I tried several things till I thought to use the direct TV remote directly to see the same issue which the latency. It looks that a firmware was issued into the box on 2/2/10. I will do some more research and see if that's what's causing the issue.

appreciate it however it's highly doubtful - i've had this issue long before 2/2. Do let us know what you find out, though.

Re: Problems with delay using H1 & DirecTV HR22-100

It's fixed....

I went to the direct tv site on my account and selected my device and did a reset from there. It didn't even interupt the program i was watching. Now i press any channels without having to go to guide and they work correctly. I guess you can do a reset from the menu - settings itself.

Good luck everyone.
