Selecting inputs on a Samsung CW-28D83N

I've got a Samsung TV that has three inputs: one analogue tuner (TV) and two video inputs (AV1 and AV2).

On the original remote there is two buttons to select an input.

The first, labelled TV (or InputAntenna on  my harmony one), always selects the analogue tuner as input.

The second button, labelled VIDEO (or InputVideo1 on my harmony), selects and cycles between AV1 and AV2.

So, to select AV2 I need to press the VIDEO button twice if I was in TV mode, or once if I was in AV1.

I can't get this working with the Harmony One.

I'm exchanging emails with Logitech Support (which are very helpful, but so far unsuccessful), but I thought that maybe someone on the forum knows how to do this?

Anyone?

The best thing to do would be to tell Logitech to setup the Multi method aka Method 5

They should know what to do then.

There's a long list of separate input commands for it though.

Support should have taken you through setting them up in Method 2.

Take a look at WannabeActuary's FAQ Section 26b to find out how to do that.

If it works it will cut out all the problems very easily.

Re: Selecting inputs on a Samsung CW-28D83N

Thanks for answering!

Are there a lot of separate input commands? My list only includes two: InputAntenna and InputVideo1 which maps directly to the two input buttons of the original remote.

As per FAQ section 26b I tried all different commands but could not find any that would set the TV directly to AV2. Also, there are separate power on and power off commands in the harmony, but they do not work with my TV. The power toggle work fine though, so it is not an issue. (But maybe an indication that I have the wrong remote codes?)

In fact there are some buttons on the original remote that are not present in the harmony one, for example teletext... Maybe I have the wrong remote model in my harmony?

Input mode 5 sounds interesting! I can only select 4 different input modes... This "mode 5: multi", how can I select that?

Logitech support has to set that up. Since you are already in communication with them suggest it to them and it should get things rolling faster for you.

The commands in the database for your TV are:
InputAB
InputAntenna
InputComponent1,2,3,3V2
InputDownInputDVI,1,2
InputHDMI2,V2
InputNext
InputPC
InputRGB
InputSVideo,1,2, 2V2,3
InputToggle
InputVideo,1,2,2V2,3,3V2

That's a lot to test as shown in FAQ 26b, but you're ARE likely to find those you use!

Maybe you could just test those that look the most likely, to begin with.

It does sometimes happen that commands such as those powers are included but don't work.

Those that are missing can be "learned" from your original remote.

Re: Selecting inputs on a Samsung CW-28D83N

Wow, that is a lot!

But I don't have all those in my Harmony?

I just have a few of them, for example InputAntenna. There are 3 pages with "extra" buttons on the touch screen when I have selected the TV as my device...

How can I get all those extra functions that you listed?

Take a look at the full list of commands in the database for your TV.

The easiest place to find them is at Devices> Settings> Customise Buttons.
