Harmony Remotes - Programming

Hello!

My gear:

Harmony One remote, Sony KDL-40xbr2 TV, Motorola DVR/digital Cable Box DCT-3412/2305, Sony amp/video/dvd HCD-C770

Two questions:

1. How do I set the default tv channel that tunes in when I press "Watch TV"? For example, when I press Watch tv, I would like everything to turn on and the cable box to tune in channel "105". Everything works now, except I can't figure out how to add in tuning a default channel to the DVR.
2.  I get sound from both the Sony amp AND the TV. I would like to be able to turn the volume up and down on both devices simultaneously. Does anyone know how to program such a trick?

1. Go to Activity> Settings> Review Settings> Yes but I want more... > Save> then a few Nexts and you get to a page headed Custom Actions on which, against the appropriate device from a dropdown list, you can press the Add button which takes you to four options of which the last is to set a Channel number.

2. Go to Activity> Customise Buttons and, as the volume up and down controls are presumably assigned now to control the amplifier, assign the TV's volume controls to spare buttons such as the spare up/down toggle.

However, for #2, what I really wanted, was to turn the volume up and down on both devices using just one set of up and down buttons. But your solution will work if that is not possible.

You can't reallly expect the One to send two different commands to two Devices at the same time!

That can be done by creating a Sequence.  I created a mute sequence to mute both my TV and my AV receiver,  In case someone had turned up the TV volume without me knowing it. I always use the volume from the AV receiver.  He could also learn a new command by combining a command from each remote into one new command in Raw format

As Hhatkin implied I will probably have to make a command that quickly alternates between the 2 volume codes for each device since the remote will have to send one code at a time...

That's right - it's what rehaz's method is doing.
