Help Me Please.
I have a Home Theatre PC with Windows 7 installed. I want to be able to use my Logitech Harmony 785 to execute commands rather than having to use the keyboard. Is there an easy way of doing this and do I need to purchase anything extra. I have selected Media Centre as a new device but nothing happens when I press the buttons.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You would need a USB IR dongle for your PC

Hi,
Does your HTPC have a standard MS USB infrared receiver connected? These are available from various manufacturers/sources and are the standard way of using any Harmony to control Media Center in the way you describe.
See http://www.xpcgear.com/remotevista.html for an example. Unfortunately the i/r receiver part is not easily found seperately and receivers only very rarely built-in to HTPCs.
Then just program the Harmony for PC, MS, Media Center.
hth,
Richard
