Re: Customizing activity buttons - guess im not the only one?

[ Edited ]
Same here. My "Watch TV" button used to house my TiVo activity, but now it is defaulting to an activity that shouldn't be "default" and isn't what I want. I've tried reinstalling 7.3.2, but it gets upgraded to 7.4.3 and then there is no happiness to be found. The software should let us specify what is default. Well, it should do what we tell it to do, period. :smileywink:

So, "support", for the record, the issue lives in both 7.4.3 and 7.5.0 and seems to go well beyond the "multiple keypress" issue that is getting attention elsewhere.

I have raved often and loudly about my 670 remotes (plural). I'm sick of manufacturers releasing shoddy firmware upon a trusting and unsuspecting public. Bah! Whew, feel better now, guess I'll watch some TiVo...Doh!

OK guys - it has to be over to Logi support - or have you both done that already?

I've got an email in to them, but no response yet. I'm still inside 24 hours on that, though. I'll keep you posted.

OK - 24 hours is more than I'd give them - keep at them!

Re: Customizing activity buttons - guess im not the only one?

Yet another one with Harmony 670 updated to Ver 7.5 software on the 11th, totally unable to change the default activity buttons, even though in the software program they indicate my personal choices are there.

How do these things happen?

Re: Customizing activity buttons - guess im not the only one?

I would just like to add my voice to the chorus. I also have had the Harmony 670 for about one year now, without too many problems. However, since yesterday, after I updated my remote using the latest Logitech software, the "Customize Activity" buttons are no longer functioning. The "WATCH DVD", "WATCH TV" and "LISTEN TO MUSIC" buttons perform the default function rather than the function that it was assigned to do. I had purchased the 670 for my Dad who is not really not accustomed to flipping through multiple remotes. I sincerely hope that Logitech fixes this "bug" and updates the software promptly otherwise I pretty stuck with an expensive paper weight and a very unhappy Dad.

Well, I'm well beyond 24 hours now and still no response from my email to "support". I haven't resigned myself to sitting on the phone, waiting for them to tell me there is no answer yet. I'll keep you posted.

Re: Customizing activity buttons - guess im not the only one?

I did hear back from logitech about the issue. The only thing they said is that the issue will be logged. That sounds to me like that was the first time they'd heard about it. Logitech needs to get moving on a fix for this new atrocious software. While i can still go to the more activities button and select my desired activity from there, i'd rather have it the way I want it. I wish now that i kept the installation file of an older version.

Re: Customizing activity buttons - guess im not the only one?

Got this response (finally!) from "support":

"Thank you for your recent inquiry about your Harmony Remote

We are currently experiencing an issue with the 670 after a recent web update that the physical activity buttons no longer work . This is an issue we have identified and we are currently working on an update to address this issue. All the activities will still work by choosing the activity from the more activities button on the remote. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused ."

So, they are aware and claim to be working on a fix.
