Harmony Remotes - Software/Firmware

I have a strange problem that came up recently - maybe after the version 7.5 upgrade, but I am not sure.

Here is what happens: I program the 720, with something programmed for Smart Button #3. It works fine until I place the remote in it's charging cradle or until the backlight of the display goes off. After that it stops transmitting the function programmed for button #3. The label for the function is there but nothing happens when I press it.

f I reload the remote's firmware it starts functioning correctly again - until I place it in it's cradle or until the backlight turns off.

Any ideas of what is wrong and how to correct it?
