Step failed Updating region

After lots of tries I just keep getting this error. I tried restoring in safe mode, upgrading the firmware, new account with basic setting, etc. Nothing lets me get past the updating region part of the remote update.

Help please!!!!

Re: Step failed Updating region

Hi there,

Try putting your computer (not the remote) in safe mode WITH networking and attempt a firmware update. The harmony software may come up as a bit fuzzy so its slightly difficult to navigate. Try updating from the following website as well while in safe mode: http://members.harmonyremote.com

If it is possible, just try updating on another computer as well to determine if it could be an issue with the remote itself. This would help to pinpoint the specific issue further.

I have the same problem - 7.4.3 may solve it, but I am not having success with it http://forums.logitech.com/logitech/board/message?board.id=remote_software&thread.id=3843
and yes members.harmonyremote.com also gets stucks at the same step "updating region" at around 33-38%

Re: Step failed Updating region

Thanks BlackBolt. I got onto Logitech support last night and they suggested the same thing. I spent some time dusting off my old Win XP box (I am normally on a Mac) and still no good. I got a slightly different error message on Windows (cannot erase flash or something) but still failed on the same step.

I am now beginning to suspect that my flash memory on the device is not working...

Re: Step failed Updating region

Was this issue ever fixed?  I get the same error:

Step failed Updating region : 0x10200b03 - The information was not sent. Check your USB cable and try again. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

When I disconnect the remote from USB the USB Connected screen never goes away on the remote.  If I take the battery out I get a go to the website to update the remote message.  Round and round.

Re: Step failed Updating region

I did contact support and was able to get to an LII and get the issue resolved.  It ended up being a conflict with some portion of McAfee, even though the firewall was disabled and all "visible" settings in McAfee were turned off.  I was able to update physically with the file Update.EZHex and then the process worked from there.
