Version 5.0 Firmware for Harmony 1000i seems to be out

Updated my remote this evening after adding a button, and we seem to have a new firmware version for Australia/New Zealand. Now to see what it does...

Re: Version 5.0 Firmware for Harmony 1000i seems to be out

Hello,

I have just updated my European H1000 to firmware v5.0.

I cannot see any obvious changes after implementing it.

Could one of the Logitech members please enlighten us?

Also why don't Logitech inform their user base prior to upgrading firmware and software?

The "Important Information" section in the opening login screen of the remote software is surely the ideal place to do this?

Regards,

Paul.

seems to bring you up to where the 4.9.1 was for everyone else and then makes some other improvements.

Eric might be able to provide more detail

Samsung LCD HDTV (LN40B640), Scientific Atlanta HD DVR Cable Box (Explorer 8300HD), Panasonic Blu-Ray Player (DMP-BD60), SlingCatcher, Monoprice HDMI Switch (HDX-501)....all with my Harmony 900 w/ 2 Blasters

Re: Version 5.0 Firmware for Harmony 1000i seems to be out

It's about time Australia gets an update.
Let me check it out tonight.. and see if they have fixed the "freezing" problem.

The other problem with the 1000i is the very narrow IR beam...
and often the devices cannot pick up the signal.
Compared with my 525, it's really a downgrade.
I guess this problem cannot be fixed with a simple firmware.

Man, the harmony1000 needs some more bugfixes ans also some more features. The way it is right now, it's way to expensive for what you get...

I like the 1000 but they need to update it to include more activities.

Truthfully, I'm sorry I bought it. But I don't have enough money to replace it with anything better.

Actually the hardware itself seems quite capable, as long as you don't have some of the charging issues etc. But the firmware and the programability are lacking. I loved my old Marantz programmable. Too bad my toddler decided he wanted to love it too. :-(

more activities?

are you serious?  when you go to create a new activity, you have two options, 'create an activity that uses your devices' or 'manually create an activity'...

i.e. you can create any activity combination you want.  the remote itself can support around 255 activities

Re: Version 5.0 Firmware for Harmony 1000i seems to be out

Here is what I found is new in the 5.0.0 firmware

The latest firmware is released primarily to address some freezing issues that were not resolved in 4.8 or 4.9. There were also fixes to the reliability of Safe Mode for the Harmony 1000 in these two firmware.
