My Off button has stopped working. It may work after fiddling with it for a couple of minutes. Several other buttons take a few pushes before doing what they're supposed to do. I've had the remote for 2 years ?? but now I've had to take the DVR remote out.
I read where some people have split the remote open and cleaned under the keys using alcohol & q-tips, even one guy with sandpaper !! Looking for guidance from somebody before I open the thing up, or spend unnecessary $$$ buying another one.
Thanks.

I hate to be the one to inform you that it only gets worse for herein. I had that remote and eventually threw it away and bought another 880. At first, alcohol did the trick..lasted about 3 weeks. Then it was 2,1 weeks and then every 3 days or so I had to do it. Then I the conductive paint was coming off from doing it so much so I bought conductive paint off the internet for like $20. That worked for about the same thing 3,2,1 weeks. Then the paint wouldn't stay on and would smear because I couldn't get it on 100% perfect (too much paint). This was, of course, not on all keys, just the mostly used ones. I finally got real fed up and gave it up.
You may have better luck than I. It's real easy to take apart. Screw on back near top were infrared is at, and some inside battery compartments. Then the circuit board has two on the bottom. You'll become a pro before you know it.
