Harmony Remotes

I have the same problem, but if I push it long enough it does eventually work. It used to work fine on the same receiver, so I am more likely to believe the problem is with the actually button itself. It is not even that old so this is pretty disappointing, but sadly on par with my experience level with Logitech product quality.

The dilema is do I pay to get it fixed or just buy a new one? If I do buy a new one, should I get the 880 again so I don't have to reprogram everything, or has this remote been replaced by something better for the same price point? Any advice here?

I would receommend getting the Harmony One, the button placement is a lot better than the 880, I have 2, I have replaced both with the One and have not been happier, I might add that there was nothing wrong with my 880s, they were almost three years old when I replaced them.

I too have a failure of the volume up button on my 880 remote that was purchased in Sept 2008 - Logitech do not offer a repair service so I had to remap the button - I shall be looking for alternatives from other companies that better support their products anyone have any suggestions

Again I'm pretty sure the remote just needs the volume buttons contacts realigned or cleaned. Both are fairly simple things to do. I'm sure there are instructions online about how to take it apart if you can't figure it out. If it's not something you want to try I'm sure I can do it. Wow, didn't realize that this was such a common problem.  Mine does the same thing.  But I did take mine apart, cleaned the contacts, but still doesn't work.  But that's a god idea to try and reprogram the buttons for the volume UP button.

i know this is an old post, buuuut. i have a 880 and the up volume doesnt work either. i remapped the buttons to see if it was the button or what. i changed the up button to down volume and it worked. so i changed it back and not working for the up volume. i dont get it. all i am using it for is the tv. no amp or anything. plllease help.

Yup?...Same here.Volume up is a no go channel up is hard as hell along with direction arrow left.Program is good but buttons do not work...........How much money is this product?BS.
