Anyway to shorten the time it take for an activity to complete?

I have a Denon AVR and a Panasonic HDTV and a satelite box and it takes like 10 seconds for me to gain control of the remote after initiating the watch TV activity.  My satelite remote turns on all three devices in about one second.  Is there any way to reduce this lag?

Re: Anyway to shorten the time it take for an activity to complete?

Only 10 sec, my setup takes 21 sec for everything to start up and inputs changed before I am able to control devices.  It all depends on the Power On delays needed for your devices to be able to accept commands.  Each device is different.  My Samsung TV needs 13000ms (13 sec) Power On delay before it will be able to accept an input command, anything less and it will miss setting the correct input at startup.  Each device needs a certain amount of time after the power on command is sent before it is ready to accept commands.  I would be happy if I only had to wait 10 seconds before I could use my remote.  You can  try decreasing your Power On delays for your devices in your Activity, but you will probably only create other problems, which will require you using the Help button to correct the problem

Re: Anyway to shorten the time it take for an activity to complete?

I found my HDTV has a 8000ms power on delay before it changes it to HDMI1 but my TV only uses HDMI1 so there isn't a need to always change the input every time I turn the TV on.  I reduced my power on delay to 500ms and the remote now turns on in a reasonable time.  Also my satelite box has a 1500ms which I reduced to 500ms as well.  Of course the Denon AVR needs the poweron delay because it is possible that it could be on another input and would have to be changed to the correct one depending on which activity I press.

The main thing is making sure that your TV powers on first, check the power on sequence, since the TV takes the longest, you should have it turn on first and then all your other components turn on while the TV is warming up
