Re: Can't remove battery from Harmony One

If out of warranty, does this mean I am not entitled for support/replacement? I see this is a manufacturer's defect. Managed to remove the battery by using a flat head plier.

If not entitled, I will need to source for a replacement battery.. I'm using 3 remotes now just to watch TV for fear of my Harmony One will explode.

Re: Can't remove battery from Harmony One

[ Edited ]

Well after severals email back and forth with Logitech Customer Support [Edited for personal information], they have declined to replace bulging batteries in my 5 Harmony 890 remotes. All 5 are out of warranty but it is more than a little frustrating to have invested so much in these remotes only to have the manufacturer turn their back on me for a known problem. Fortunately my bulging batteries are still holding a charge so I plan to continue using 4 of them and just taping the battery cover back on since it will no longer fit back on for 2 of the remotes, One of them has broken tabs on the cover and one has broken slots on the body. The 5th I cant even get the battery out and I am afraid to pry it open. Customer Support did not advise me to dispose of the bulging batteries or to stop using the remotes so they must be confident that the batteries will not catastophically fail and cause injury or damage to personal property.

I have to say that I would be hard pressed to purchase Logitech Harmony products in the future. I have used Logitech remotes for about 8+ years now (this is my 3rd set) and I will not hesitate to find my next set from a manufacturer that stands behind its products better.

Re: Can't remove battery from Harmony One

I'm also having this problem. Found this thread from a Google search. The battery on my Logitech Harmony One for the past few months hasn't been holding a charge very long and I haven't been able to remove the battery. Now it is completely dead and won't charge in the cradle. I finally managed to pull it out and it is extremely bloated. No idea what phone number to call since the Logitech software tells me I have to buy phone support.

Here's a side view showing just how swollen the battery is: http://i.imgur.com/HaZOx.jpg

Never buying a Harmony remote again.
