Can the Harmony One do the following? [Pre-sale question]

[ Edited ]

I'm seriously interested in a One but I have a question that I'm sure has been asked before and I can't be the only one who has this kind of set up.

When I watch TV, I turn on my TV, my HD-DVR and then my receiver.

My TV's speakers are turned off and I control the volume through my receiver.

With this remote, I'm assuming that I can program all this into one button (i.e., "Watch TV" ) and have the channel buttons control the HD-DVR and the volume buttons control the volume on the receiver.

Would I be correct in this assumption?

Thanks.

Yes that is the benefit of all the Harmony remotes, it is called Activities.

Ok cool, I thought so.

But can I control the volume on the receiver and everything else on the HD-DVR without switching devices on the remote?

Re: Can the Harmony One do the following? [Pre-sale question]

When you create an Activity, you tell it what device controls the Volume, what device changes the channels,  Device mode on the remote is only for storage of commands for the device and for testing purposes.  All controlling of devices is done in Activities.  Any additional commands needed for a device used in an Activity not mapped, can be added to either an unused hard button or to the LDC display for that activity.

That's the point of Harmonys - ordinary universal remotes only mimic a set of separate remotes; Harmonys combine them any ways you want.
