Re: Directional keys repeat (double) twice per key depress

I've had this issue in the past with an 890, rf extender and a DirecTV HR10-250. Direction keys were doubling up.

The problem went away randomly.

Now it's back on a new device- HR24.

Oddly it's not affecting my HR20, and I've even setup the HR24 to use the remote codes from the HR20. I think it may have something to do with the device being "receptive" for more rapid commands (HR24 is faster hardware). Either way, I called support today and I was rebuffed...out of warranty...update your firmware...

For a company to charge SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS for this product and not support LEGITIMATE problems that make the product useless, is pathetic.

Harmony- you need to make good on this!

Re: Directional keys repeat (double) twice per key depress

You need to Troubleshoot the device and lower the repeats.  Select your HR24, select Troubleshoot, select Device responds too much or not enough, then lower the repeats.

Re: Directional keys repeat (double) twice per key depress

Responding to my original post, I have yet to solve the problem.  But it has been narrowed down.  If I remove BOTH (of two) emitters, the problem still exists - per my original thread.  If I disconnect the receiver, then I lose all control.  SO, clearly, the remote is sending multiple (probably 2) directional keys for every (hard-key) directional command that I send.  I think I've done the RAW and REPEAT functions, but I'll check that again.  But, it's still a stumper.  And, of course I checked the original (Samsung) remote, and it works just fine.  So, this is definitely a problem with the Harmony remote NOT PROPERLY EMULATING the Samsung remote.  :smileysad:

If you are using the stand alone 7.7 software, you need to Troubleshoot the Device, select Responds too much or not enough, then lower the Repeats.  If you are using MyHarmony.com, you need to contact Harmony support and have them lower the repeats for your device

Re: Directional keys repeat (double) twice per key depress

I have done 3 recommended things and it still doesn't work.  Specifically, I have set repeats to ZERO, I have assigned the emitter to "port" B (for BluRay) and I have learned two of the directional keys in raw format so that I have a control (two keys) and a variable (two keys).

The result is that all four keys still function improperly.  95% of the time, I get a double response (two moves) for every key depress on the remote.  And, for the blu-ray device, which is a Samsung BD-D6500, it makes it more-or-less unusable except for the simplist of functions.

What does one have to do to get something like this to work???  The price of these remotes is far too high to put up with this kind of inability to emulate the stock remote.

Re: Directional keys repeat (double) twice per key depress

Did you ever find a solutions to this?  I am STILL struggling with this problem.  BTW, I tested using soft keys for directional controls with the same result.  It other words, it's not a problem with just the hard buttons, its the same for any control of the directional commands (up, down, left, right)...at least on my Samsung BD-D6500.  :smileysad:

[ Edited ]

Hi all,

If all lowering the repeats to 0, assigning to ports, learning the commands in Raw did not solve the issue, you can PM me your login id for your harmony remotes so that I can look further into your accounts and make the necessary changes to fix it.

Regards,

Re: Directional keys repeat (double) twice per key depress

I'm having the same issue, specifically for my XBox 360, my PS3, and my Oppo BDP-83 Bluray player.  Can you please give me the same account level fix as I've tried many of the previously suggested solutions.
