Re: H900 - RF Blaster not responding

Having the exact same problem.   My remote/blaster has worked for approximately 12 months with no issues.   All at once, I get the "Blaster Not Responding" message when trying any activities.   I have conducted all the troubleshooting guides recommendations as you have listed, but with no success either.   Would appreciate any suggestions..   Thanks,

Re: H900 - RF Blaster not responding

exact same problem for me "blaster not responding" error. worked great for about 6 months. then all of a sudden one day it kicks it. When trying to re-add the blaster is says the blaster can not be found. when the blaster is reset/unplugged and then powered on the status light comes on solid for a couple seconds then blinks then goes out.

I contacted logitech with the issue and without hesitation they send me a replacement 900. Just got the new remote today. swapped out the old blasters for the new ones and configured the new remote. STILL having the exact same problem even with the new hardware! I thought it could possibly be the ac outlet i was using, so I tried 3 different outlets all around the house and the new hardware can still not find the blaster and I still get the same "blaster not responding" error.

If I wanted a harmony one remote I would have bought one....

very unhappy customer, if the issue does not get fixed I will never buy logitech again and NEVER recommend it to anyone.

Re: H900 - RF Blaster not responding

I have the same problem as above.  I used the 900 with RF Blaster for 5 months before I got the "Blaster Not Responding" and "No Blasters found" messages.  I have tried the trouble shooting recommendations without success and double checked possible interference, although we have not changed any of our electronic configurations.  How do I know if it's a malfunctioning Blaster or a neighbor's baby monitor?  Since my 90 days of customer service are up, I'm back to using 3 remotes with the 900 collecting dust.

Re: H900 - RF Blaster not responding

Same problem as discussed. Had my remote for about a year and it's progressively getting worse. Now, every time I use it, I get the "blaster not responding" message. My blaster is about 12 feet away from me and I can see it in plain sight! And, no, I have not added anything new in my house that could interfere...

This has to be a defect - a poor design. There should be a recall - I just want a working remote.

Why doesn't Logitech seem to care?

Re: H900 - RF Blaster not responding

I have 50 feet through two walls and doesnt work.  i have to be about 15 feet from equipment.  Any recommendations on equipment as i will probably have to return the 900.

Re: H900 - RF Blaster not responding

I just encountered the same issue.  I've been using the 900 for about a year now and just started receiving the "blaster not responding" message.  I've had to switch RF completely off to even use the remote.  I've reset and completely powered off the blaster and get the same thing, solid light, blinks and then light goes off.  Does Logitech support actually browse these forums or do they just go unnoticed?

This is extremely irritating and now that I come on here and find there are many others out there w/ the same problem I have become very discouraged....

Re: H900 - RF Blaster not responding

[ Edited ]

I just finished a successful phone call with Logitech.  Here's what we did.  Plug the Harmony One into your computer and open Logitech software.  Go to Downloads and then select Firmware.  Once you update the remote, unplug it.  Now go to your RF Blaster and press the red/orange button on back for at least 8 seconds.  This will reset it.  On your Harmony One remote, press Activity button and then Options.  Find RF Settings and the go to Advanced RF Settings.  Add Blaster and point it right at your blaster.  The first try didn't find it but on second attempt, I actually picked the blaster up and held it in my hand.  That seemed to do the trick.  Now I'm back to using expensive remote as it should be, the RF way.  Good luck!!

Re: H900 - RF Blaster not responding

Wow, that was a long way to go for that ... I had tried resetting and re-adding the blaster several times, and while there was a firmware update available for my 900 I doubt that was the issue ... however, I think the key was when you said you had to hold the blaster in your hand, because the first three times I tried to re-add the blaster it failed, including twice with it in my hand, but the fourth time I had the remote and blaster literally touching nose to nose and was able to re-add the blaster ... all is working correctly again ...

Thanks for that post!

Re: H900 - RF Blaster not responding

Just to add that I have just suffered the same problem as all  above.  My H900 RF Blaster worked well for nearly 12 months before I got the "Blaster Not Responding" and "No Blasters found" messages.  Nothing Tech Support suggested did any good. CS have been very good and have sent me a warranty replacement.  Clearly seems to be a bad batch of H900 remotes out in the wild. I shall be very nervous about the replacement being any better.

BTW, I have also suffered from a massively swollen battery during the first 11 months. With all the problems with Dell & Sony laptop Li batteries exploding this is very worrying.  I recall that the problem with Li batteries is that they need VERY specific charging conditions and circuitry that stops charging when the batteries are full.  If the charging electronics in Harmony remotes are sub-standard then this might explain the battery swelling problems. In any case I don't think the swelling issue should be ignored by users who notice it happening to them. Better safe than exploding.
