My step dad got this remote last night and i got it all hooked up for him but now when we switch from activity to activity the tv shuts off.

for example i have Watch TV

TV

Verizon Fios

Yamaha Surround

then we have DVD, iPod, VHS

All of which use the TV

If i switch to iPod it shuts off the Fios and the TV

iPod to watch TV it turns off the TV

The only thing that stays on like it should is the Yamaha.

Ive gone to every activity and told it to leave the items on, ive added separate things for the TV in each activity. like "when switching from iPod turn off ipod" Then i added a thing to leave the tv on HDMI 1.

But it still just turns off the TV

One more issue we are having is our Yamaha reciever has a 2 zone function. so we have 5.1 inside the house. then in our back yard we have a separate zone. so if im watching tv and dads out back he can listen to a separate channel or the ipod while i can hear the tv inside the house.

I cant get this function to work. its not an actual button on the yamaha remote its a switch. so i dont know if that has soemthing to do with it. but it is a different IR code. so i went to the learn code funtion and switched it to zone 2 then pressed power and it said it learned the code and stuff but it wont switch the zones on the yamaha.
