Have a very simple setup in the second media room. I have a Harmony 900 in the primary media room and for whatever reason the wife and I ended up spending more time in front of the second TV. I replaced the DirecTV, Samsung TV, DVD Player, and Yamaha Receiver remotes with a Harmony 300. I figured it would be simple and perfect for this setup. One issue - the Yamaha receiver has discrete power on and Standby functions. I can set the power button to one or the other. That either leads to not being able to turn it on, or not being able to turn it off with the single "watch tv' button. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks much !!

What I did in one of the same type of situation was ta assign the power on and power off commands to the up and down arrows on the remote and assign the power toggle command to the power button

Hi all,
Even though the Harmony 300 only has a single 'Power' button that will turn a device on or off, it can work with discrete Power commands. Specifically, AV Receivers. If a device truly can't be powered on by a single PowerToggle command (which by default is assigned to the Power button) then it will use Power On / Power Off.
You can see this by hovering your mouse over the Power button when you are in the AV Mode button customization screen. If you drag a 'PowerOn' command into that button, you will see "Power On / Power Off" which means the 1st time you push it it will send Power On, and the 2nd time it will send Power Off.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
DaneHarmony

This has been a battle for me as well...
I have tried a million sites looking for a solution and I thought my purchase of a Harmony would fix this.
Nope...
This is what I have done.
I have a Yamaha HTR-6030 and it is programmed on my remote.
The power toggle does nothing.
I have assigned the poweron and poweroff buttons to the up and down arrows...
Does nothing
I have "taught" my remote the on and off buttons.
This causes the remote to more less "lock up" and stop responding in such a way that I can light up all the top device buttons at once by pressing them and they stay on, then shut off 5-6 seconds later and the remote responds.
Sometimes the power off/on would fire AFTER this lock up was over...
Ofcourse I have reset my remote and retried all the combinations all over again
Nothing...

Did anybody have a fix for this one ? I am still struggeling with it. The list does not show a power toggle button just a power on and power off button so with the watch tv button i can either turn off or on the receiver but i cant do both so I always have to manually poweron/off the Yamaha AV receiver ![]()

Goto edit buttons for the device, hover over the watch tv button, click on setup, make sure your device is checked.

The buttons for the RX-V463 are "PowerOn" and "PowerStandby" -- not "PowerOff." The trick with PowerOn doing both on and off doesn't work, perhaps because of the difference in names. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed on the server side?
