Harmony 550 and Samsung TV

My Samsung LCD TV uses a "source" button to enter the various connections.  However; the 550 does not list a "source" command in order to use the "source" button.  Using the Harmony Software, when I select Devices, my Samsung TV, Settings and Adjust Inputs, it does present an option to check a Samsung TV......("Method 3: Select this method if your TV is a Samsung, or if you press a button to bring up an on-screen menu of source inputs, press a different button to cycle between them, and press a third button to accept the selection.").  This option correctly list everything according to Samsung's TV's BUT still does not have the "SOURCE" button listed.  Any suggestions on how to put this together?

Re: Harmony 550 and Samsung TV

the model number will help, but 99% of the time, the mention of 'samsung' and 'toshiba' in methods #3 and #4 are just flat wrong...

we've pleaded with logitech to change the wording, but we're still waiting...almost a year if memory serves me

Re: Harmony 550 and Samsung TV

Well over a year since I got my first Harmony and it led me astray - for a day or two! - with the Tosh TV.

Hi WaltH,

On most Samsung TV's in the Harmony database, the source command is called "InputNext". When going through the input setup, choose that command to bring up the input menu. This should work correctly for you.

Regards,

Mark

Yes, Walt, that's the "better solution" that I was looking for.

WannabeActuary's FAQ thread gives you details about it at point 26b.
