Harmony 720 sticks in "Did that fix the problem loop"

My father-in-law's Harmony 720 sometimes gets stuck in a loop in the help where it asks "Did that fix the problem" and regardless of whether you select yes or no it just refreshes the screen and asks "Did that fix the problem?" I does not ask the next question in the wizard sequence such as "Is the TV on?. You can get out of it by selecting activities or other buttons. If you press help again without having selecting another activity it will go straight back to that screen. Selecting another activity seems to restart the help wizard. The first time it happened I "rebooted" the remote by pulling out the battery. I searched here and didn't seem to find a description of a similar problem.

I'm visiting here here for the week so hope we can resolve this soon. I was exceptionally disappointed to discover that the free phone support has been discontinued. That was one of the justification for spending ten times the price of a normal universal remote on a harmony.

Thank you,

Paul

Re: Harmony 720 sticks in "Did that fix the problem loop"

Hi Paul and welcome.

You should send an e-mail to Logi support about this as there is clearly a physical fault in the remote.

It's better anyway to use e-mail than phone as it gives you a firm record of what's said on both sides.

Re: Harmony 720 sticks in "Did that fix the problem loop"

H H,

I sent the message to support.

Thank you for the advice. I hope their support is better than the usual high tech email support who scan the message and then look through the list of pre-canned answers and pick something that might be related. You just want to scream "Did you READ the message?" :-)
