Harmony 785 problem using Satellite (Foxtel)

Hi there,

Our remote developed a problem overnight - one day it was fine, the next morning this: when using the Device "Satellite" (Foxtel here in Australia), the remote scrolls through all of the channels when you're trying to browse (instead of one at a time), and no button responds if it's pressed twice in a row - for example, you can't sroll down (using the page down button) more than one page, or you can't go to channel 100, 110 etc.

I've tried all the trouble shooting ideas that are suggested, I even deleted the device and reinstalled it, but the problem still exists.

All the other devices are fine, it's just when watching satellite TV.

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated  :-)

Re: Harmony 785 problem using Satellite (Foxtel)

Hello PeeWee14, and welcome to the Forums.

The issue with the Foxtel & Harmony remotes is usually one with an incorrect model number.  Please ensure you have entered in a model # rather than the serial of the box itself.  This is typical with these boxes since it's not clearly labelled.

Since the codes are all the same it shouldn't matter, but some correct functioning models if you use the name Foxtel are IQ, IQ2, TDS-250NF, and TDS-460NF.  Foxtel doesn't manufacturer the boxes themselves, so picking Foxtel is not the most correct device type, but those will work just fine.

Reasons behind this, is that the codes used a very similar to ones used by Pace in Europe which when sent to a Foxtel will cause some skipping & doubling of commands.

Hope that helps,

Re: Harmony 785 problem using Satellite (Foxtel)

 Hi DaneHarmony,

Thanks very much for that - how do I change the model number? I think our problem has been fixed, but I'd still like to have the correct model number for the device (you're right, at the moment I just input the serial number I think)

Thanks again

Re: Harmony 785 problem using Satellite (Foxtel)

Hello, and I'm glad to hear things going well now.

There is no simple way to swap or change a model #.  You will need to add the new model & then re-run any activity setup that was using that model. Once the old one has been removed from all activities & you're sure the new settings work well, then you can click the trash can icon beside the old model.
