Harmony 880 Add new sequence

When adding a new sequence to the 880 it appears that there are only 5 commands that can be added to the sequence.  Is there any way to increase this?

I would like to add a button to go to DirecTV ToDo list.  This requires:
menu, DirectionDown, DirectionDown, DirectionDown, Select, Select which is 6 commands.

Does anyone have a work around or suggestion?

Thanks in advance!

Some have used the Custom ["raw"] learning method to send 2 or 3 consecutive commands in one command.

Re: Harmony 880 Add new sequence

Some careful planning can create useful RAW keys in the method applied above.  For example, if Down x3 or Select x2 is a common function those "learned sequences" can be reused should you make other sequences.  On the other hand, you may be less likely to need to reuse a "Down+Select" grouping.

I don't remember one, but you can also look for a ""Todo List" command in Device Mode - it's more of a useful quest when you're talking about using menus to change inputs.

Re: Harmony 880 Add new sequence

Thanks for the response.  I created a custom command for the 3 down sequence but only seem to be able to get it to learn 1 down command.  The command that I've created called "down3" shows up in the "other command" section.  When I click "learn command" I hit the down arrow 3 times.  I've tried this pressing the button quickly as well as more slowly but it only seems to learn the command once.  Do you have any suggestions regarding what I'm doing wrong or what I might try?

Thanks again for your help.

Re: Harmony 880 Add new sequence

Learning multiple commands is more of an art than a science.  It's possible that the command in question may bleed together and fail to capture well, if that's the case you may want to try disparate commands like "down+select".  If you've never had to learn a RAW command before it may help to practice with a single button capture first.

Re: Harmony 880 Add new sequence

Thanks for your help.  I finally got it working with a down+select combination.  I found out at first I wasn't learning the commands in RAW mode.  The software is a little confusing to me with regards to that vs analyze but finally figured it out.  Once I got past that couldn't get 3 downs or 2 selects to work but the combination did.

Now I just need to add a button to add an extra hour to something in the to-do list.  I can't tell you how many times I've missed the ending of a sporting event because it went longer than scheduled and I forgot to go through the hassle of adding extra time.

Thanks again!

Just for the record, Raw is just another word for what Logitech call Custom.
