I just called Logitech support for my 880. This is my 2nd 880 as the first one was replaced under warranty. This one is out of warranty. IR's are dead, checked with digital camera. Found this link, went to RadioShack, followed instructions, and about one beer later, I am up and running again! Thanks for the tip!

GUESS WHAT? There's an ion battery located in the back of the remote!! Never even knew it! The manual says to apply downward pressure then push it open and there it was! We were getting ready to go to the store to get a replacement, but just as someone else in the forum mentioned - we slid the cover back on, turned it over and WHA-LA! it was working again! Just thought I'd share that - you have no idea how much we were dreading getting a new remote - we love the 880!
