I've had my Harmony One upon release. It has worked flawlessly up until a few days ago.
When its placed on the charging cradle I'll get a flash of horizontal lines, which will then immediately go to the "Harmony" title screen. Then it'll show the battery indicator as if it were charging. I honestly do not recall if the charging battery screen (green bar) was animated or not, to indicate if were charging. But mine appears to be frozen.
When I pick up the remote it goes black. No lights on the buttons/LCD. When plugged into the computer it remains undetected.
I checked the battery and it has expanded so far that it's impossible to remove without causing damage to the unit.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.
You need to inform Logitech support immediately of this problem.

Good luck.
Harmony is out of the batteries and so is Best Buy.
I got mine out by using a butter knife to raise it up and a pair of needle nose pliers to pull it out. Very bloated but the batteries are not to be found. Welcome to your new Harmony brick!

I actually didn't even attempt to email. Just figured it was down based upon what was said on these forums and on the product support page. Although I conluded my incident report through email, where of which I provided my shipping address and received my RMA#.
And I actually totally forgot to ask about the $29, having been so relieved to finally get off the phone. Is a bill usually sent for the $29? I don't recall method of payment being brought up during my call.

Hi,
it was reported that they usually ask for a credit card#. If they haven't done so, you should be on the safe side. And of course and according to a Logitech statement, warranty claims should always be free of charge.
Greetings

They say I need a new battery. The battery is only 1 year old. I thought the unit has a two year warranty. $30 bucks every year to replace the battery, that doesn't seem right. AA batteries last for years in my other remotes.

The warranty is 1 year in the US and 2 years in Europe
