I have a setup where I have connecter all my devices (DVD, two decoders, DVR, Wii and Boxee) via HDMI (not the Wii) to my Yamaha RX-V771 which in turn is connected to my TV. I have set the DVD, Boxee and Wii to run the sound through the amplifier, but the decoders and the DVR have been set to run sound through the TV.
The problem I have is when I have for instance watched a DVD and had the amp set to HDMI1. I turn it all off and the day after I want to watch TV on the decoder in HDMI2. I do NOT want to turn the amp on, I want the sound to run through the TV. The amp is set to "Pass through" on the HDMI signal, and as I had understood it, it would automatically detect which HDMI connection that got a signal and let it through, but it does not seem to work that way.
I have however noticed that in stand by, I can press the HDMI2 button on the Yamaha remote and it will change it, even though the amp is not on. I have therefore tried to make the One just send the HDMI2 signal when I press the Watch TV button, but it seems it wants to turn the amp on first.
My question is, can you program the remote to send a command to the amp without it turning the amp on? I've seen that you can add commands, but then it has turned the amp on first.
Hope I've made at least SOME sense... ;o)

Sounds like you should be able to set up an activity with only the devices WITHOUT the amp. Then, program a custom remote command from your AVR's remote for the input you want. Once you have this, you can then add it as an added command during the start up of this activity.
The key is to NOT include the AVR device in the activity but to use a custom remote command on one of your devices in the activity like the TV for example. That should work without turning on the amp since the Harmony One would see this as part of the TV and the TV would be already turned on as far as the remote is concerned.
At least that's how I'd do it.
I'd be interested to hear back and see if this worked for you.

Ah, right. Good thinking! I had NOT thought about that, but that makes perfect sense... I'll have a go at that as soon as possible! ![]()

Right, teached the "TV" the inputs for the HDMI channels on the reciever and programmed the remote to send those signals, where needed, and it seems to be working like a charm!
Thanks for the tip mate!
