Since you are still stuck I did some testing and found the method described earlier would not require a need to start up or go back to standby to or from WatchTV after all. This is because:-
If an activity (such as WDTV) is in use at the time when 'All Off' button is pressed, Harmony does issue any command which was added to the finish of that activity. Therefore the proposed changes to WatchWDTV should reliably make it do its own self-contained input switching
Noted that the Sound Bar remembers the input last used, and considering that you only need to switch inputs when going back and forth between TV and WDTV:-
As described earlier you could turn off the auto switching. Then add the relevant Samsung Input to the start of WatchWDTV, and add the reverse command to the end of WatchWDTV

Cunning, I like that. So I ringfence WDTV as the only activity that s allowed to move the sound bar input and everything else just expects to be on Digi1
I will try it and let you know how I get on!

Made that change and it works great! Thanks
I had to switch my sound bar "device" so that the input settings were back on Method 2 (one button per input) and then set the imaginary button called "[None]" as the button to choose each input. That stops other activities from trying to change the sound bar's input.
I can now see how I would use the Analog port in the future if I need to so that's extra good news.
