also, make sure your computer _does not_ have an ir port... a good percentage of vista boxes do have an ehome ir port even if they don't ship with a remote.

Awesome. I just ordered the Harmony One on Amazon and I'll order that dongle later today.
Thank you so much for explaining all this to me. All the product specs in the world wouldn't have helped me make an informed decision as much as you have. Kudos to you, sir!

Great... look forward to hearing how you think computer control works with the harmony... just keep the mouse option in the back of your mind ;-)

The hulu software desktop software (which is in beta) is not on the main hulu.com site, so, it took me a while to find it.
Installed and tested it together with the wmc remote, but, with mixed results.
On my XPPro setup, the wmc transport controls (play/pause/etc) do not work with hulu although they do work with wmp which the above page states that the hulu controls are compatible with.
otho, hulu is at least partially controllable using the wmc remote commands. The cursor pad seems to be the only controls that hulu responds to, but, pressing ok brings up the hulu menu where actions can be taken by the mce remote.
That said, from playing around with it for 15-20 minutes, mouse control still wins hands down... much easier, more control and more intuitive... personally, I will never use the wmc remote with the mouse avialable for use.
I look forward to hearing more from those who don't have or won't use a mouse.

PS... hulu looks like it will be a major media center asset, especially for others who do not subscribe to cable or dish tv.

While the doingle I linked is targeted at the mac, another user here confirmed that it is fully mce compatible.
Can you point me in the direction of this post? I can't find it through the search, and I'm having a hard time getting the dongle working. My PC isn't recognizing when I plug it in. Thanks!
