Harmony Remotes

Hi Everyone

Im at the end of my tether and in desperate need of some help in order to regain my sanity

Like so many others on this forum, my harmony will not change its input in order for me to view my dvd player (ps3 - I have the adaptor). I have sucessfully connected it to my tv (Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR) and cable tv (Foxtel) however when i press the "watch a movie" button, it will turn the cable tv box off but not adjust the input to HDMI1 as it has been programmed to. The PS3 adaptor is definately working as if i change the input manually with the tv remote, the harmony will allow me to control the PS3.

I have read through countless posts about this problem however I just cant seem to get my head around it.

A reoccuring theme I have come across is "Method 2" for input control. I am unsure how to do this exactly. I have been through the settings of my tv and can not find anything

How do I use discrete input commands?, would this be suitable to correct my issue?

Please help..... My head hurts........

You select Method 2 at Devices, Your TV, Settings, Adjust Inputs.  Your Sony TV should altready be using Method 2 as that would be the default.  If the problem occurs of not setting the correct input from an all off state, increase the Power On Delay for the TV, if the problem occurs of not setting the correct input when changing Activities, increase the Inter-device delay for the TV.  Theses delay settings for the 700 are done using the remote, see this link to change the Power On delay, and see this link for changing the Inter-device delay

I can not seem to find that option. I am using the newer Harmony software and the options seem to be very limited.

Am i able to adjust the delay with the new software?

In my previous post click on "link" there are two, they will tell you how to adjust those two delays using your 700

Welcome to the forum Natalie.

The references you found to Harmony Input Method 2 are important.

Your TV defaults to that method so check at Adjust Inputs that it is still selected.

If it isn't select it and do the editing of input names and assignment of commands if they're not fully accurate..
