Help-button always turn my ps3 on ?!

Hi, I've got a very annoying problem. Everytime I have to use the help button, to make a unit turn off, my PS3 always turned on at the first thing happens when pressing 'help'.

Anyone got a solution for this? Very annoying. :smileytongue:

The first thing to do is to fix the problem that needs the Help button!

Run the Troubleshoot for it, and if necessary give us more details of that problem.

I've been noticing that as well - when I press the help button on my 890, the PS3 powers on.  Not a major problem but is a little aggravating.

Re: Help-button always turn my ps3 on ?!

It is usually due when you've gone in and adjusted the Power Settings on the PS3 yourself.  If you remove the PS3 and add it back it will fix it for all remotes except the Harmony 900.  On the default PS3 device power settings it is setup to use discretes since we need two different commands to turn it on and off.  However the PS3 commands are not discrete and Help will send out any discrete commands when it is first pushed.  This is what causes the specific error on the PS3.

We've added an small setting in the default device to not send during Help's first push, but if you've adjusted the device power commands yourself (even if you just end up using the same IR commands) it will override the default settings and cause this issue.

Am I understand you correct if I say I remove the ps3 (slim) from the device-list, re-add it. And don't change anything for the device. I didn't understood that part of the H900, as it is that remote I've got.

Hello yabbah,

So the issue is unresolvable for you at the moment.   If you removed and readded the Slim on your account it wouldn't do anything different as the 900 ignores that extra statement to ignore the first push of Help.  It's currently a known issue on the Harmony 900 and may be fixed in an upcoming release.

Ah ok, thanks for letting me know.

If there is a fix in a new release, how do i get that release? Just plugin the remote in the computer and program it? Do it check newer firmwares then? Or do I have to go any specific places?

Aside from coming on here and asking there isn't really anywhere to find if new firmware was released.

If in the Logitech Harmony Software there is new firmware to be applied it will do so when you update your remote. It's done automatically.

Any updates on this problem yet? I've updated the most recent firmware and pressing help still turns on the PS3.
