Help!

I need to change the order of activities shown on my Harmony 700 remote lcd screen.  I used to just have:

Watch DVD and

Watch TV

on my main screen.  However, since adding a game console, my main screen (1/2) is now:

Play Game

Watch DVD

and my second screen (2/2) displays:

Watch TV

I'd like to have Watch TV and Watch DVD on my main screen (1/2) and Play Game on my secondary screen (2/2).  It's a pain for my wife and visitors to scroll to the second page on the lcd screen to Watch TV.

Unfortunately, I've gone round and round and have not found a way to do this.  I've tried renaming the activites and even adding numbers as prefixes with no luck.  Any ideas?

Hi apd,

There is a roundabout way, that isn't really supported but can be used to get the Activity order switched around.  It involves using the old web site members.harmonyremote.com

Log in and then on the right hand side you will see the 'Reorder Activites' link.  It's there from previous versions of remotes, but somewhat works for the H700, H650 & H600.  The order isn't what is displayed on the screen when you click it.  I found that in a 3 activity setup, spot 3, is 1st on remote, then spot 1 is 2nd on remote, and spot 2 is on 2nd page 1st spot on remote.    This may vary for you, but a few trial & errors should get you going.

You are the man!  Your suggestion worked like a charm.  My 80 year old father in law is going to appreciate the simplicity of having Watch TV on the main lcd screen.  I woke up this morning and found him sitting in front of the TV without a clue of how to turn it on because the main screen only had Play Game and Watch DVD.  His vision is so bad that there's no way he can see read the text under the hard Watch TV button.  He's going to be a happy camper now.

Perhaps a future software upgrade will allow the rearranging of activities for the Harmony 700.

Thanks, I had the same problem and this worked for me as well. Interesting that all other support persons are saying that it's not possible to rearrange the H700 activities display ...

I hope this functionality comes back to the future software releases.

Unfortunately with 5 activities, I was unable to locate the one activity, "Watch TV", on page 1 Any further thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

First post , so be gentle if I make a mistake

 ...

I have a Harmony 700

I have spent 6 hours trying to re-order the activities

I too wanted Watch TV and Watch a Movie on the first page

I have tried the link here --> http://members.harmonyremote.com/EasyZapper , but even though it 'lets' me re-order the activites, when i save to the remote and detach the USB cable, the activities are as they were before

I have now given up on the idea of re-ordering

Page 1/2 is Wii and PS3

Page 2/2 is Watch TV and Watch a Movie

Hard Buttons are 'Watch TV' and 'Watch a Movie'

I have now realised why it is done this way...

Out of the 4 activities that I am able to use, they are ALL accessible from the main screen

Hard buttons for the main activites and soft buttons for the other

Logitech place the two main (or even three) activites last as they can be actrivated from the hard buttons

Hope this makes sense..

With regard to the other chaps comment on his 80 year old father, when we have a 'non techie' person in the house, we will train them!

Hi:

I have the Harmony software (7.7) installed on my Windows 7 PC.  I use the program to program my Harmony 880.  I bought my son a Harmony 650 and setup his remote on his separate user account on my PC.  I want to reorder activities as noted earlier in this thread using the "workaround" described.  If I log in (using the Harmony Software) from my son's user account, then go to my browser and connect to the link noted above; it appears that if I click "Next" I will be updating the software.  My concern is that I already am running the current software, and am concerned that if I use this "workaround", will whatever happens negatively impact my software access and the settings I have on my Harmony 880?  Thanks for your help.  I understand why Logitech orders the activities in "More Activities" the way they do, but these activity hard-buttons are the only buttons that don't light-up, making it somewhat difficult to select the correct activity (Watch TV or Watch a Movie) in a dark room.   If these activities are noted in the lighted window on the 1st page of the activities, it's so much more convenient.  Thanks.  -SAJack

Didn't work for my 700. Using the old online software linked above it would put the activities in random order other than 1 being 1. One time 2 would be 2 and the next time something else.

I think its the hard buttons over-riding whatever choices you make.

Example. If "Watch TV" button is assigned to an activity called "TIVO", that automatically will not allow it to be on the first page.

Same for any other button. The software is saying "hey, you already have a button assigned to this, so we're not going to put it on the display"

Which is annoying.

I suppose you could make 2 of every activity, and then assign the dupes to the hard buttons, and then sort the original activities and that should work.

Really, Logitech simply needs to update their software. It's a bit lacking...
