I have a Logitech Harmony 900. Starting yesterday, the device is not turning on properly. When I reinsert the battery, the screen can either remain black, remain white, show the Logitech logo and remain white or turn on correctly. When the remote turns on correctly, it works for at most an hour or two, then turns off.
I have another remote for my downstairs YV. I switched the batteries, but this is not helping.
What should I do?

Try updating the firmware on your remote.
Go to downloads on your harmony software and select firmware.

My 900 was doing the same thing so I tried the firmware update and while it was installing the remote rebooted to the white screen and lost connection with the PC. Now I can't get it to power on at all. The Off button lights up for a few seconds and then it goes off.

Have you tried to remove the batteries on your remote?

Yes. I pulled and replaced the battery until it would boot properly. It was doing the same thing as the OP's remote. But while trying to update the remote it rebooted to the white screen and froze after the third or fourth auto reboot and disconnected from the USB. That forced me to remove the battery again and now it doesn't cycle through the different screens(Whitescreen, blackscreen, frozen Logitech screen, and different light patterns of the off button) anymore. It now only lights up to off button for a few seconds and then it goes off.

Remove the battery and place the remote on the cradle w/o it. If your remote will boot up then try to put your remote to safemode by Pressing the OFF button while placing the battery back. And then try to update the firmware again. If the remote wont go to safemode or update at all. Try to update the firmware of your remote without the battery. Let Me Know.
