hello everyone
hopefully someone can help me out. i have a really weird problem with an activity of mine. it seems that no matter what i do i cannot figure out why it does this (perhaps a bug in the software).
first off my setup:
PS3 w/Logitech Adapter, HDTV, HDMI Switch, A/V Receiver.
All are used in an Activity Called: Playstation 3
This activity does the following:
-Power on HDTV and switch to HDMI
-Power on A/V receiver and switch to Digital Optical
-Switch HDMI Switch to Input 1
-Power on PS3
my order works fine, however the additional buttons on the lcd always have two buttons that repeat towards the end of the menu.
for example. i have my additional buttons setup w/only 6 commands (none use the x, o, triange, square icons since i thought that they were causing the problems). L3, R3, Triangle, Square, O, X and no other commands.
so this should only show me one page of buttons on the remote.
however when i look at my remote it shows me 2 pages of commands/buttons and the Square and O buttons repeat on the 2nd page (even though there shouldn't be anybuttons on page 2).
this only seems to happen whenever i make a Playstation3 activity. My HTPC/Windows7 laptop and IR dongle never have this problem. only any game console related menus do.
here's what i've tested and noted for problems:
i have recreated my ps3 activity from scratch several times now.
--removed both the activity and the devices for all devices in my ps3 activity (basically started from scratch), did not help. same problem
if i remove all additional buttons, the screen will only show the blank first page. however if i add any buttons to teh first page, they will repeat.
i had a nyko bluwave remote prior to getting the logitech harmony ps3 adapter and still had issues. i am runnign latest firmware and harmony one desktop software too.

this is happening because you have some commands in two locations...in the same activity. if you have the same commands mapped to the LCD and to hard buttons, the remote kinda freaks out.
the 'workaround' for this is to create a 1 button sequence, and assign that to the hard button. then assign the original command to the LCD so that you get the nice image/icon...then you won't have the repeating commands

I had a pro set my system up, the PS3 slim dual shock controller stopped connecting to the PS3 so Sony said rest to defult settings on the PS3, after the Harmony wouldn't work I called the Pro (best Buy) and he suggested this place.
