Logitech Link

Obviously the iPad/Iphone communicates to the Link over IP, but can a third party (i.e. me) send IR commands from my computer as well? I would like the ability to post to the Link and have it send IR commands. (For example, when my iPhone is no longer on my home network for a half hour and its during daylight hours  (i.e. I'm not home) I want to send commands to the Link to turn on my Roomba.

Is there an API?

Hello Tedco,

The Harmony Link is going to act like any other Harmony remote. The only difference is that the Link device sends out the IR commands and the phone/tablet will be the key pad.

Re: Logitech Link

Since the Harmony Link is capable of communicating over wi-fi is there a published api that we could use to take advantage of posting commands?

Re: Logitech Link

1. It is my opinion that allowing harmony link to accept commands would make the harmony link a HOT product and more sales for Logitech.

2. If Logitech were to provide a published API they would be able to sell a LOT more of these units as these can be then integrated with Home automation.

3. There are other devices like the SQ Blaster which allows to do that, and just having such an option to interact with Harmony link would be more than a desired feature - I'm just not sure why device designers at Logitech dont look in to such considerations....

If you would like to send any feedback about any Logitech product or software go to www.logitech.com/ithink

This is our product survey which will then be forward to the correct department.

Re: Logitech Link

BAW I ordered my harmony link and got everything setup. It is a nice device. Logitech have done an awesome job with this :smileyhappy:

I just need to do one thing and I'm hoping I could get some help with that.

How do I configure so that  the Remote buttons A B C D show up on channel up/down screen( I'm on android device, Droix X to be specific)

I think there ought to be an option to add a specific Device command to the channel up down screen.

Also the Record button is missing??? I added scientific atlant Explorer 8642 HDC..Thanks for your help

Re: Logitech Link

The MyHarmony.com setup will not allow you to save your password, it will only save your present logon account name
