Lose volume with PVR functions

I've had and Harmony One for about a month now and have been loving it.  Firmware was updated when I did the initial setup.

However, occassionally when we fast forward or rewind a show recorded on our PVR we lose all sound.  It's normally after we get a little flustered shooting past commercials and are hitting the FF or RWD buttons a little too agressively.  Either way, the only way to get sound back that we've found is to power down the PVR itself.  At times this isn't a big deal, but we often are watching a previously recorded show while recording a new one.  By powering down, we interrupt that newer recording.

Has anyone else found this problem or know of a better solution/work-around?

Thanks.

Re: Lose volume with PVR functions

is this problem specific to the harmony?  I would try to replicate it with the original remote and see if it's a problem with the box itself.  I know I've had some boxes in the past that have had the audio/video get out of synch (but never completely gone) when jumping in and out of fast forward several times...

Re: Lose volume with PVR functions

This never occured prior to adding Harmony to the mix.

Hardware is all the same, we just use the one remote instead of three.

Re: Lose volume with PVR functions

still...boxes can have firmware/software updates pushed to them via the cable company...is this a cable/satellite company provided DVR?  or is this a separate third party DVR?

Motorola DCT-6416 III box provided by Insight.

I'll try to replicate tonight, but so far it's very sporatic.  Just annoying as all get out when it happens.

Re: Lose volume with PVR functions

understandable...

it may be related to the harmony...but as part of the process I just want to eliminate the box as the problem itself

It's not uncommon when playing from a hard disk for the audio to get out of synchronisation or to disappear altogether.

As there's nothing in the remote that could cause the problem it has to be an unfortunate coincidence that the recorder has developed the problem now!
