I have a Harmony 880 that has been working fine, but we've reconfigured the home entertainment center to work with it.
I have the Harmony Remote Software 7.7.0 (current version) on two macs and a Windows 7 notebook. I've tried two different cables, although I don't know where the original cable is (and wouldn't recognize it if I had it in my hand - which is to say I may have tried it).
When the software tries to connect to the remote, it says "Plus the USB cable into the remote control, or press any button..." - forever. All this despite the fact that the display on the remote says "USB CONNECTED" when I plug it into any of the computers.
This happens on both the Macs (Intel, OSX 10.6.8, which is current) and the PC.
This **bleep**. It is not the ease of use that these remotes are sold on. I've searched the archives but not found a solution. When I use "about this mac" and look for the remote as a USB device, it is NOT THERE. I haven't gone through the same procedure on the PC, but I'd bet it's not there either.
Please help.
Thanks,
John
