Harmony Remotes

I purchased a supposedly refurbished Harmony 890 online. I was unable to login to the remote and program as if it were a new remote. I ended up using the "lost password" route, and found an existing username for the remote. Of course, there is no way to get the security question answer or TV/zip code info to allow me to access the remote and change the password. Is there a way to reset the remote or the password so I can access it with a new password?

Whose username are you trying to use?

The username that came up when I tried the "forgot password" method was "tjhatl" (without the quotes). Tech support said to simply create a new user account, and when I hook up the remote it should "wipe" all prior info and allow me to reprogram it from scratch. Tried it, and it says no remote is recognized and it must be a hardware problem. If that is the case, I wonder why it was able to communicate with the Harmony software to reveal the prior owners username?

Did you try to create a new user Account using the Harmony 7.7 software?

Yep...downloaded latest Harmony software. Installed/uninstalled a couple times. Still cannot get remote to communicate, past allowing me to discover past username. Can't access from new account, can't update remote, can't update firmware. Won't even communicate from safe mode.
