New (refurb) Harmony 900 freezing

Long story short, I encouraged my parents to buy a Harmony remote because I love my Harmony One remote so much and they needed RF. Add Logitech's good deal on refurb 900's and it was a done deal.

However, since I got it, it has frozen up a couple of times. Now, this had only happened to me (personally) 3 or 4 times, but it was when I was using the remote heavily (I went through each DTV channel picking out "favorites" - so there were LOTS of button presses happening.) I figured it was no big deal because the remote would rarely (if ever) get used like that again. Every time but one, I was able to pull the battery and it rebooted fine. One time I actually had to refresh the remote with the Harmony software.

Well, it just froze up while my father was using it. So now I'm worried they have a bad remote.

Am I somehow missing something that I should be doing or should I initiate a claim with Logitech?

I would suggest you call phone support to have this issue check and also go through some troubleshooting procedure.

Re: New (refurb) Harmony 900 freezing

Perform a FIRMWARE UPDATE on your remote while its on SAFEMODE

Remove Battery>Press and Hold the Off button on the top left>place the batt back while still pressing and holding>SAFEMODE will be on the LCD

Login to your account>click on DOWNLOAD (upper right hand side)>click FIRMWARE and follow the prompt

Test your remote and if that will not fix your isse, that is the time to call the harmony customer care.!

I don't need kudo's BUT accept the solution if it helps you solve your issue. So others with the same problem can see it too. :smileyhappy:
