Power off plug socket via IR, change delay to allow PS3 to power down first

I have a plug socket that is programmed as a device so that I can turn it on / off.

This is added at the start of the sequence for each activity and at the end to turn on the components (TV, amp, PS3, HTPC etc.)

Now there is no problem with any of the sequences except when I turn off the PS3 activity via the off button.

When I press the off button for the PS3 activity, it turns off the TV, amp, PS3 and then plug socket.  The problem is that the plug socket turns off too quickly, not allowing the PS3 to shut down fast enough.

My thoughts on this are

Move the PS3 to the first item to be switched off from the harmony, giving vital splits of seconds

Put some sort of delay in for turning off the plug socket IR command?

However I am not sure how to do this.  Also the PS3 does require quite a few seconds to power down, so would I need to continue to point the remote at the system until the command for Socket Off is sent?

The only other option I can think of is to move the PS3 to a different socket which is not powered down (sat receiver is on this to allow recording etc.), but that means it'll sit forever in standby which is the whole point of having the power off plug socket

Some other background infomation

There is no problem if I change activity from the PS3 activity to say "watch TV" as this does not turn off the power socket, allowing the PS3 to power down normally.

There is also a small delay for the plug once it receives the command to turn off anyway, but not sufficient (and not changeable)

Has anyone else seen this, or any idea how to programme my harmony one to allow this delay?

It is the one as seen on Dragons Den some time back

http://www.thestandbysaver.co.uk/

It allows any IR code to be programmed as the On and another code as off.  It indicates that to use the TV on/off buttons, but as I can with the harmony, I have created a completely separate device (I think I chose a projector randomly) and used 2 ir buttons from that as the on/off
