Harmony Remotes

I received a Harmony 720 today, however it seems unable to charge.  If I take the battery out and put in in the charger it powers it, so I know the charger is working, however with the battery in it starts into the screensaver, but quickly exits with the low battery message.  When I exit the low battery message, the screen stays on and the battery meter stays red with one bar blinking.  Any suggestions?

The charging is so designed that when you put the remote on the charger, you will first get a tone then the Screen saver will start for a few seconds then the screen will go black.  Your remote should be fully charged within a few hours.  Be sure that you have the battery in the remote correctly.

When I set it down I get a tone, the screen saver starts, but quickly goes away and is replaced with a low battery message.  When I exit the low battery message the screen stays on.  If I don't exit the low battery screen it keeps beeping every few minutes.

The screen saver is designed to only stay on for a few seconds.  How long have you left it on the charger?

I have had it on the charger for over 3 hours now.  The screen saver doesn't even play for even a second, it starts to play but is extremely quickly replaced by a battery level is low screen.  If I exit the battery level is low screen it stays on the normal screen, and stays lit up.  If I leave it on the battery low screen it stays lit up and beeps every few minutes.  I can take it off the base and use it, and if I set it down the screen shuts off like it should.
