It now seems possible I don't know how probable that the new 922 will be able to be controlled by a Harmony.
1st Question can the IR receiver be cut and connected to a IR emitter cable for direct connection to the RF extender?

I have one and was able to get it working nicely with my VIP-722k DVR. I have it in my bedroom (different room than the DVR). Using that, in conjunction with an ir repeater for TV #1, allows me to have one activity for wacthing TV#1 and another activity for watching TV#2. It's pretty sweet!

Let me see if I can clarify...
I have my DVR (in the basement) connected to my bedroom TV (on the main floor) via the "home distribution" jack. The DVR is configured so I can view TV1 on channel 63 of the TV and TV2 on channel 60 of the TV. While I could turn the channel on the TV to see either TV1 or TV2, I could not control TV1 or TV2 with the Harmony One because the DVR is out of the line of sight of my One (which is IR only).
I had been using the IR repeater to receive the IR signals from my One, convert them to RF, transmit the signals through the walls to the other repeater base, convert them back to IR, and blast the IR signal to the DVR. This worked great, but would only work for TV1 because TV2 couldn't receive IR signals (and the RF signals TV2 can receive must come from a Dish Network Remote to work). I left the repeater for my Watch TV1 activity on my One.
Recently, I added the TV2 IR converter in my bedroom. The instructions that come with it aren't great, but I was able to get it working. This allowed me to use IR for TV2 as well. I then realized that I could just create another activity ("Watch TV2") to switch to channel 60 on my TV and control TV2 on the DVR.
Switching back and forth between TV1 and TV2 is now as easy as switching activities on the One in my bedroom!
I don't know if we are allowed to post links to websites, so just do a google search for "Dish Store" and you should find where I bought it. It was $40. PM me if you want specific links.

I don't understand how you guys are using the word "activity". Please explain.
I also have the Dish VIP722, and would love to be able to use and control TV1 from my bedroom. The receiver and main TV are in the living room. Currently I can only use TV2 in my bedroom.
