That terrible HELP button on the 1000i

Seems that my complaints about the HELP button being TOO CLOSE to the PLAY button on the PVR screen isn't an issue with anyone other than just ME and ONE other user. That's very strange. Don't any of you 1000i users touch the HELP button accidently all the time when controlling your PLAY and PAUSE functions? Two of us do ! And you then have to REWIND a lot of vision because you took several moments getting out of HELP. If ANY of you out there have this issue please add to this thread so that Logitech might see its a problem area. Surely the round format PLAY PUSE (etc) button could simply be moved LOWER on the screen. Thanks

Re: That terrible HELP button on the 1000i

Not having a 1000/1000i I can't be sure what the layout is, but most touch screens have a grid they use. This means that a button can only be moved in units of one button size and not fine-tuned through software. Perhaps in the next generation they'll use some of the next generation touch screens that are a bit more flexible.

Re: That terrible HELP button on the 1000i

I guess it's more appropriate to say that the most cost-effective means of implementing a touchscreen is this way. Obviously some screens need a higher resolution, such as the screens that capture signatures or touchscreen input devices. I'd be happy to be proven wrong on the H1000, but both the 1000 and the One all seem to have the same touch points on all the graphics I've seen. The One obviously only needs 6, they've only got modes with three or six buttons. It's possible that the H1000 could have a higher resolution touchpad to allow more fine tuning of the button position (and I'd be happy to be proven wrong on this account), but given the timeframe of introduction I believe you're limited in button position.

Re: That terrible HELP button on the 1000i

You all have brought up some good points regarding Harmony 1000. I’ve used this remote in the past and its a cool device. However, I’ve also noticed the touch points on some device screens are a bit close for my large fingers. Thanks for comments and bringing this issue to our attention. I’ll be forwarding your comments and suggestions to the appropriate engineering department.

Best Regards,

Thanks Aric for your support on this issue. I hope it DOES get to their attention, as this is the second time I have been told that. Let's hope this time something is done about it. THANKS.
