Turning off power toggle in an activity

I just got my new Harmony 650 in the mail and am loving it!  Set up was a breeze, no hang ups with the software or overall functionality at all.  The only thing I need it to do (or not do) is NOT toggle power to the TV in my Listen to Music activity.

I have a Samsung TV and have it hardwired with Cat5 for the Smarthub feature.  My wife likes to listen to Pandora through Smarthub, so I made the Listen to Music activity control the TV for music and the Samsung soundbar for volume control.  It does all of that just fine, but it toggles power to the TV when I push Listen to Music, whether the TV is on, or not.

If she's watching cable, with the DVR, I just want her to be able to push Listen to Music, the button I programmed for Smarthub and proceed as normal.  Well, now, if the cable's on and she pushes listen to music, the TV turns off.  It switches control just like I want it to.  All I want it to do is NOT toggle power to the TV.  How do I do this?

With Samsung TV's there are discrete power commands available in the database, so you should not have to use the PowerToggle command, even though your original remote only has a Power Toggle button

Re: Turning off power toggle in an activity

Hi. If you included the TV device in your 'listen to music' activity (which is feasible with v.7.7.0 software) then, by default, I think it would not try to turn off the Tv when changing to listen to music.

Regards

Chris

Re: Turning off power toggle in an activity

I just pushed the listen to music activity button while in netflix, through the tv (same control set as pandora) and the tv did not turn off.....perhaps I spoke too soon.  I'll report back after some more usage.

Let me ask this, Does the remote know if the TV is on when it's changing activities?

Re: Turning off power toggle in an activity

If the remote turned on the TV via an Activity, then it knows that it is on.  If the TV was turned on by any other means, such as using the original remote, pressing the power button on the device, or going into Device mode on your Harmony remote selecting the TV and powering on the TV that way.
