Wrong input for 1 activity after cold start

[ Edited ]

My situation:

Harmoney One.

3 devices:

- samsung tv (connected to mini-set by digital input for sound)

- samsung mini-set (connected to tv on hdmi 1)

- zotac mediaplayer (connected to mini-set on hdmi1)

2 activities:

1. Watching tv:

- Tv input: TV

- mini-set input: Digital in

2. Multimedia:

- Tv input: HDMI1

- mini-set inut: HDMI1

My problem is a cold start for the activity 'Watching tv' after I used Multimedia and went into standby.

The input on the mini-set stays on HDMI1 instead of switching to Digital in.

The weird thing is that the other way around it does work, so I watch TV. Turn it off. Cold start for Multimedia and then I can see it switching from Digital input to HDMI1 on the mini-set.

The problem only occurs at a cold start with 'watching tv' after the last activity was Multimedia. Help does solve the problem (several button pushes to switch to the right input).

Switching between activities is not a problem.

The mini-set uses an inputnext button, so you have to cycle through the options. I've tried to increase startup delay but without succes. It's on 8 seconds now. This way multimedia works fine.

For some reason for the activity 'watching tv' it doesn't even try to switch to digital in.

Does anyone have a good idea for me? I've been busy all afternoon yesterday without succes.

Greetings,

Charlie

Re: Wrong input for 1 activity after cold start

Hi Technofox,

Please Increase the POWER-ON DELAY as well as the INTERDEVICE DELAY of your Samsung Mini-Set.

Turning off the HDMI-CEC function of your Samsung TV as well as your Samsung Mini-Set may also rectify your problem.

HDMI-CEC function for Samsung devices is called ANYNET+.  Please refer to your user's manual for specific instructions.

Regards,

Re: Wrong input for 1 activity after cold start

Thanks for the tip! Just read it and will try it this weekend.

I've seen this option on my mini-set for sure.

Unfortunately it didn't help to disable Anynet. Same issue remains. Sometimes it just refuses to even try to switch input.

You don't mention whether or not you tried increasing the Power On delay

Re: Wrong input for 1 activity after cold start

Sorry, yes, I did increase the power on delay without any result.

Something did actually change:

When I try to switch from Multimedia activity to TV activity (not a cold start), it also refuses to switch the input from HDMI1 to Digital Input on the Miniset.

It looks like Anynet used to do this before switching it off.

Re: Wrong input for 1 activity after cold start

For the last comment, it sounds like you need to increase the Inter-device delay for the TV.  How much did you increase the Power-on delay, for one of my Samsungs, it needs a 13000ms power on delay, my other Samsung only needs a 8500ms power on delay

Re: Wrong input for 1 activity after cold start

[ Edited ]

After giving up and putting my Harmony One away for a few months and messing around with 3 remotes I thought I would it another try: :manembarrassed:

Devices:

- Harmony One

- Zotac ZBox (Mediaplayer)
- Samsung HT-E5200 (Miniset / Bluray Home Cinema set)
- Samsung UE40D6200 (TV)

Activities:

1. Watching tv:

- Tv input: TV

- mini-set input: Digital in

2. Multimedia:

- Tv input: HDMI1

- mini-set inut: HDMI1

What have I changed so far:

- Anynet+ Turned OFF on both Samsung devices
- Power on delay Mini Set set to 15000
- Inter-key delay Mini Set set to 500
- Inter-key delay TV set to 900
- Changed input method Mini Set to Method 1 (weird enough its standard on Method 3)

Results so far:

Cold start problems for Activity Multimedia has been solved.

Turning off Anynet introduced a weird problem though;

When I change from activity "Multimedia" to activity "Watching tv" the Mini-set refuses to make any attempt to switch input channels. Help solves the problem manually.  This occurs from both cold start or changing activity.

The other way around from "Watching tv" to "Multimedia" there is no problem and the Miniset starts to change the input channels.

Anyone an idea why it won't even attampt to switch from HDMI1 to D.In, but no problem at all with D.In to HDMI1?

Input cycle Miniset: BD/DVD -> D.IN -> AUX -> R.iPOd -> HDMI1 -> HDMI2 -> FM -> BT

I doubled it from 500 to 1000 without succes. Current settings delays mini set:

15000

400

1000

1000

Same isue remains; switching back to "Watching TV", the Mini set does not make any attampt to change input channels.
